It’s International Women’s Day, so it’s time to formally introduce the women of bob.

We’re very proud of our commitment to our female staff members who work across all of our departments, and in both our Tel Aviv & London offices.

Gender split – aiming for equal

bob currently has a 40% female workforce, with our ideal being 50/50 men and women.

Below you can see our gender split across the company, using the bob Clubs view.

When our product designers started looking at how to visually display employee information within bob, a visual representation of gender split was a priority. This makes gender distribution visible across the whole company for any bob client, and helps keep it top of mind for management (as well as assisting with new gender reporting requirements).

Women in leadership roles at bob

As a company of 46 people, we have quite a few women in leadership roles.

bob has a female chairman in Lady Barbara Judge (a huge advocate of women in business), a female Co-Founder in Amit Knanni (Chief Product Officer), two female VPs (Noa Urbach & Sharon Argov), and a female head of department (Louisa Tratalos).

Co-Founder, Amit Knaani, says:

I love working in a company with such a strong female presence, and I think it gives a provides a better balance to my home-life and work-life. My team is made up of 4 women and 2 men and we are able to learn so much from each other. I would also love to see more women in development and in senior positions.

Increasing the number of women in tech is important, and we’re doing our bit. An improved gender balance ultimately provides users with better products, as women can bring a different perspective to the process.

Across the tech industry, we need to do more to avoid discrimination and reduce sexual harassment. This is still a male-dominated area, and if we don’t, we’re setting a poor example for young women”.

Where are bob’s women?

In bob’s club view, it’s easy to see where the women in our business are.

As may be expected, marketing, customer success and design roles at bob all have a strong female presence. However, we’ve also got a good number of women in our product and development teams as well.

One area where we have fewer women right now is on the sales side, and we’re working on improving that at the moment. In fact, we’ve got a new female sales rep joining us in our London office very shortly.

Who are bob’s women?

I thought it would be fun here to also show you what the women at bob tend to get up to in their spare time. This is the Clubs view showing the most common hobbies of our female staff members.

It looks like we’re a cultured bunch. Lots of readers, travellers, art and music enthusiasts. It’s easy for all of us to find at least one thing in common with our colleagues, and we often design group activities around our shared interests as well.
